Lili Song is a Lecturer in Law at the University of the South Pacific. The core of her research is Chinese refugee law and policy. She also researches on human rights issues in China such as protection of trafficked persons and the right to leave and return. In 2013 and 2014, she conducted fieldwork in Kachin State, Myanmar and Yunnan Province, China on ethnic Kachins displaced by armed conflict in Myanmar and maintain a strong interest in forced migration on the Chinese-Myanmar Border. She is qualified to practice law in China and worked as a lawyer in Shanghai prior to her academic career. She is a member of the Asian Pacific Refugee Rights Network.
